Just as you come out of the Colosseum
Opened in 2001 and now very much a fixture of Rome's gay scene, the hetero-friendly Coming Out is all things to all gay men and women with a menu that includes breakfast, typical Italian lunches and dinners, coffee, cocktails, karaoke, drag nights, live music, patio smoking and more. Gets buzzy and busy at night. No dance policy per se, but it doesn't stop the party-minded from moving in that direction. Located immediately around the corner from the Colosseum. And just down the road at 26 is the ComingOut Shop.

      Great Spot
This is a lovely, friendly venue in the shadow of the Colosseum. We enjoyed whiling away a few hours with drinks and a lite bite to eat. Very enjoyable.

      disgraceful and criminal
Me and my partner popped in here mid-afternoon for a quick beer (Saturday 13th April 2013 between 3.30 - 4pm). It wasn't particularly busy but the two guys on duty seemed to be rushing around the place in a somewhat confused and agitated manner (as if on speed or something) - in the kitchen there was a great din of plates, pots and pans falling on the floor. It was chaotic and at the same time amusing. However, 1. We asked for Peroni and it certainly wasn't Peroni beer but dedcided not to say anything (it was just a quick drink and opportunity to take advantage of Wi fi). 2. I went to the bar to pay the bill which was 9 Euros for two beers. I handed over 10 euro note. The bar man took the money and put it into the till then walked away - no thank you, no receipt, no good bye and no change! I decided not to challenge the 1 Euro but thought it was a cheek to assume that I would leave a tip. Me and my partner then packed up our map and books into our bag (meanwhile, the Bar Man that took our money was running frantically around the kitchen area) and then left the bar. As soon as we stepped foot outside where people were sitting and passing by he chased after us and aggressively accused of not paying the bill. We could not believe it. We challenged him but he insisted making more of a scene so that people around us were looking. We were firm and to the point. I reminded him that this transaction would have been caught on CCTV - he backed down a bit and stopped making eye contact with us, continuing to accuse us while rushing around the bar area. I then asked for his name and he said, 'Bye...bye'. I will be taking this matter further. Utterly disgraceful! I have learnt to always ask for a receipt and make sure that change is given and tip not assumed....and...never to darken this doorstep again!

      queeny, dykey, twinky, dull
One of the only gay hang-outs in Rome. Most of the people are out in the street as no one has the money for the over-priced drinks. Check it out if you're a tourist but it's definitely not fun. Some good people watching on a warm night.

      Too touristy
The barman told me that due to it's location, right in the most touristy area, is the reason it is overpriced. But a fun atmosphere, friendly enough staff.

Probably the only gay bar in Rome...
Easy to find - literally behind the Colosseum - on a warm nite you can't miss the 100 boys in the street drinking

      The only place in town
This is the only gay gathering place in town. Tons of people on the street almost every night (weather permitting). Can be clicky...if you don't know anyone, hard to strike up a conversation. (attitude...)
